Well Witches

Game Development & Art Collaboration | UCSC
2024 - 2025

In 2025, I entered a leadership position as an art officer at my university’s game development organization, GDA. In this role, I created and taught various workshops to educate fellow game developers on the game art pipeline. Then, I facilitated the artistic production of Well Witches alongside 3 other producers. Here’s all I’ve done for the game as just an artist.

Tools Used: Clip Studio Paint & Procreate

Play Well Witches

Title Screen

The titlescreen illustration is divided into 3 central layers for parallax: the Front (characters & cauldron), the Middle (the shelves to the sides) and the Back (the forest background).

The background layer was additionally repurposed to be the loading screen.

Itch.io Cover

For the Cover, I was the background and final special effects artist, painting over passed flat colors to create a visually enticing thumbnail piece to display the game on Itch.io.

UI/UX Design

I created a couple of key UI assets for the game. The still UI were created in Clip Studio Paint, and the loading screen icon was made and animated in Procreate.

Environment

Here, I worked on a few assets to be used in the map! These are grassy floor tiles that were used in a wave-function generated map, and one tree as an obstacle.
